Nobody trusts you when you are unhoused

In February 2026, I was trying to get housing help in Pittsburgh while also dealing with pain and hospital visits. Allegheny County Government's housing allocation algorithm may not know what it feels like when every office treats you like you are hiding something.

I went to the hospital and got searched again and again. Later, when I tried to explain why I needed stable housing, the record still seemed to treat me as a risk instead of a person. The caseworker had a form to complete, but I needed someone to understand why being unhoused makes every interaction harder.
