The lunch portal changed my status without explaining why

In March 2026, Pittsburgh Public Schools' student award eligibility portal changed my child's lunch benefit status from pending to review. We live in Squirrel Hill, and nothing in our household income had changed. The school staff member at the office could only see that the file needed more information.

The message did not say whether the student award eligibility portal used an income record, address record, or another rule. I uploaded the same documents twice and still could not tell what was wrong. My child was embarrassed asking the cafeteria worker what to do while the adults tried to decode a status label.
