My application was flagged and nobody could explain why
A benefits application was sent to extra review without a clear explanation of the record being checked.
In May 2026, the Allegheny County benefits office in McKeesport marked my application for extra review. The benefits eligibility verification engine said something in my file needed checking, but the notice did not name the record.
I brought the same paperwork three times: pay stubs, lease, and a letter from my employer. Each benefits worker could see a little more of the file, but nobody could tell me what triggered the flag. I was not trying to avoid review. I wanted to know the question I was supposed to answer.

This is exactly why notices need to explain what record triggered a review.
We can add this example to the next benefits clinic agenda.
